Historic Preservation/Adaptive Re-Use
Acknowledging a region’s architectural traditions and history of its people, LRK balances aesthetic visions with economic realities in the preservation of historic urban housing and the adaptive reuse of civic landmarks. LRK’s work in these areas range from the transformation of a public housing project listed on the National Register of Historic Places into an inviting neighborhood of public and mixed-income apartments to the conversion a landmark YMCA to upscale loft apartments above a state-of-the art fitness center.
