Daily Memphian - The renovated Central Station Hotel is scheduled to open in September. Guestrooms feature large windows and tall ceilings with spectacular views of downtown, while a 3,500-square-foot hotel restaurant and bar will anchor the ground floor, along with an additional 7,000 square feet of retail. Light-filled interiors feature mid-century modern furniture and an emphasis on the Memphis music scene, while an extensive art collection focuses on the train route stretching from New Orleans to Memphis to Chicago. Commercial Appeal - The 103-year-old Central Station building in Memphis' South Main Arts District will undergo extensive renovation into a 124-unit hotel with ballroom, bar, meeting areas and 6,000 square feet of retail. The project will also transform the existing Amtrak lobby and ticketing space in the hotel lobby as well as create a new Amtrak lobby near the former Memphis Police substation. The Daily News - Plans for downtown Central Station were unveiled on Friday and include a new boutique hotel, a five-screen Malco movie theater, and the possbility of a grocery store.
