Memphis Business Journal – LRK is honored to have been involved with six projects selected as finalists in the Memphis Business Journal's 2019 Building Memphis competition. The Crosstown Arts Theatre and FedExFamilyHouse, Phase II are both finalists in the Best New Construction Medium category, Memphis Rox is a finalist in the Best Renovation Medium category, and ServiceMaster Headquarters, South Main Artspace Lofts, and the Tennessee Brewery are finalists in the Best Renovation Large category. The Commercial Appeal - FedExFamilyHouse, a home for families with critically-ill children being treated at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, will undergo a $12 million expansion led by FedEx Corp. The 4-story, 40,000-square-foot expansion building will include 21 suites and 30 hotel-style rooms, a library, four kitchens, laundry facilities and children's play areas. Plans call for new community spaces for gatherings, meetings and functions and outdoor play areas and gardens. LRK is providing architectural and interior design services for this project. Read more.
At Home Memphis & MidSouth - This article relays the history of FedExFamilyHouse, beginning as the vision of a local community leader to the extensive volunteer network that supports the facility today. FedExFamilyHouse aims to provide a flexible, home-like environment for families with a critically ill child being treated at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
