The USGBC Tennessee community awarded Crosstown Concourse the Exceptional Leadership Award as part of this year’s 2018 Leadership Awards for demonstrating high levels of leadership in all facets of sustainable design. The Commercial Appeal - Crosstown Concourse, Memphis’ 1.5-million square foot historic distribution center-turned-vertical urban village, has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification for its historic rehab and adaptive reuse of the Sears Crosstown building. Crosstown Concourse’s size and scope affirm the title as the largest historic adaptive reuse LEED Building Design + Construction Platinum project in the world. Read more.
The Commercial Appeal - Heating and cooling system maker Trane honored the Crosstown Concourse development team with a national Energy Efficiency Leader Award for 2017. Crosstown is aiming for LEED Platinum certification, which would make it the largest LEED Platinum-certified historic renovation building in the world. Read more.
Memphis Business Journal – The Memphis Business Journal recently ranked LRK number #1 for having the most LEED professionals of any local company. The MBJ’s July 29th green-focused issue also features a list of the Memphis area’s most sustainable commercial buildings. LRK helped One Commerce Square (#2 on the list) to achieve LEED Gold certification, and for the second year in a row, we assisted FedEx with achieving Energy Star certification for their 1.2 million-square-foot World Headquarters (#1 on the list). Other projects on the list that LRK has been involved with include FedExFamilyHouse (LEED Gold), CA2 (LEED Gold), Smith & Nephew Innovation Centre (LEED Gold), and Independent Bank in Germantown (LEED Silver). The Commercial Appeal - One Commerce Square just became the first downtown Memphis office building to receive LEED Gold certification. LRK designed the renovation of the 30-story building and managed the LEED process. The owners of One Commerce Square have seen energy savings of 45% or $138,000 annual cost savings. Read more.
