LRK is honored to announce that the Parcels at Crosstown also recently won a Best in American Living Silver Award in the Adaptive Reuse/Multifamily category. The Best in American Living Award ceremony was held on February 20th at the Westgate as part of the 2019 International Builders' Show in Las Vegas. Judges commented "This is a big "wow!" Kansas City Business Journal – The Kessler at Meadowbrook Park was awarded a 2019 Capstone Real Estate Award in the Multifamily category by the Kansas City Business Journal. Daily Memphian - Construction is expected to commence in April or May on the U.S. Marine Hospital renovation. The project consists of three brick buildings: the 75,000-square-foot main hospital and a 15,000-square-foot maintenance structure built in the 1930s and a 4,500-square-foot nurses' quarters built in the 1880s. The buildings will provide 71 multifamily units including studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. In addition to the planned apartment amenities, residents will have easy access to the nearby Metal Museum, Chickasaw Heritage Park, and Crump Park. D CEO - The McKenzie is featured as D CEO’s Multifamily High-Rise Development of the Year. The 22-story, 183-unit residential high-rise offers on-site concierge and valet parking, electric vehicle charging stations, a private boardroom, a pet park and spa, a resort-style pool, and fitness center. The Kansas City Star - When redeveloping the 18-hole golf course into Meadowbrook Park, city officials and developer VanTrust agreed on a reserving 60 percent of the property for an urban park. With significant buy-in from residents, what resulted was a “park framed by a neighborhood” and the jewel in the development’s crown. The Meadowbrook Park community will feature 53 single family homes, 20 twin villas, 282 upscale apartment units, a boutique inn, and 300-unit senior living facility. LRK is providing planning; architectural and interior design services for the Kessler luxury apartments, the inn & restaurant, twin villas and some single family homes; and design review services for all single family homes at Meadowbrook Park. Building Design & Construction - Crosstown Concourse is featured as a Platinum Award winner in the magazine’s annual Reconstruction Awards. Urban Land - This Urban Land article focuses on the history of Crosstown Concourse’s redevelopment, the collaborative planning and design process, and the resulting impact the project has had on the surrounding neighborhood. A little over a year after completion, Crosstown has achieved full occupancy, and with 2,000 to 3,000 people visiting the building each day, residential development around the area has picked up and neglected commercial buildings are coming back to life. Builder - We are excited to announce that two LRK-designed projects have won Builder’s Choice Awards. The O’More Designer Show Home in Nashville won a Merit Award in the Production, Semi-Custom, or Spec category and Memphis' The Chisca on Main received a Grand Award in the Renovation, Remodel, or Restoration category. The awards were presented on September 6th at HIVE Design 2018, a half-day symposium of thought leadership on the future of housing in Washington, DC. Winning projects will be featured in the September issue of Builder magazine.
Professional Builder - The 2018 Professional Builder Design Award winners have been announced and two LRK-designed projects are among the list. Memphis’ Parcels at Crosstown was a Gold Award winner in the multifamily category and Tate at Tanglewood in Houston was the winner of a Silver Award, also in the multifamily category. Professional Builder's annual competition recognizes builders, architects, designers, developers, land planners, and interior designers across the nation whose work demonstrates design innovation, as well as a high level of construction quality and success in the marketplace. This year Professional Builder awarded eight gold, six silver and two bronze winners. Read more.
Commercial Appeal - The initial 148 units in the renovated historic brewery and the attached new apartment building have reached full occupancy in less than five months. According to property manager Fogelman Properties, the Tennessee Brewery is one of the company’s fastest projects to reach full occupancy. Read more.
REBusiness Online - StreetLights Residential has broken ground on The Elizabeth at Presidio, a 373-unit multifamily community in northwest Austin. The Elizabeth at Presidio will be StreetLights Residential’s second community in northwest Austin following The Michael at Presidio, a 415-unit property that opened in September 2016. Houston Business Journal – Construction is underway on the first luxury apartments to be located within northeast Houston’s new 4,000-acre neighborhood, Generation Park. Called 255 Assay Street, the 251-unit apartments are situated within Redemption Square, the community’s 52-acre mixed-use district. Units will range in size from a 600-square-foot studio to a three-bedroom penthouse of 2,651 square feet, and the apartments will also feature 17,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. Completion is expected at the end of 2019. LRK is the design architect. Read more.
REBusiness Online - StreetLights will develop a 373-unit multifamily community within the 129-acre Austin Presidio development. The new community, designed by LRK, follows The Michael, a 415-unit community that was completed in September 2016. Dallas News - Construction has started on the 26-story, 310-unit Hamilton high-rise apartment building in Deep Ellum. Developed by StreetLights Residential, the project includes ground floor retail, lounge, makers room, workout facility and rooftop pool deck. The project is part of the mixed-use Epic development. Two LRK projects were awarded 2017 Best in American Living Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Bexley won a Platinum Award in the Single-Family Community 100 Units & Over category and The Chisca on Main received a Gold Award in the Adaptive Reuse Multifamily category. Winners were announced on January 10th at the NAHB International Builders' Show.

Memphis Business Journal - A formerly blighted corner at Union Avenue and McLean Boulevard is undergoing a transformation to become home to a mix of apartments, restaurants, and retail. The $33.5 million project, known as The Citizen, marks the first construction of new apartments in Midtown in more than 15 years. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday. Curbed – The first phase of Centennial Park apartments in downtown Atlanta is nearing completion. According to the article, the new development is the largest infusion of residences in downtown in a decade. LRK provided architecture and planning services for this 407-unit multi-family project. Multi-Housing News - The LRK-designed Chisca on Main is featured as a Gold Award winner in the MHN Excellence Awards' Adaptive Reuse: High Rise category. The judges praised the project team for redeveloping the two buildings rather than demolishing them and for successfully linking the two structures into a cohesive multifamily community.

What Now Atlanta - Construction has started on Aria Village, a 30,000-square-foot mixed-use development in Sandy Springs. The project will feature retail and restaurants, along with five-story apartments. The community will have access to nearby hiking trails and offer an impressive amenity package, including a luxurious pool deck, co-working spaces, dog wash, and two-story fitness facility. The first apartment homes should be available in fall 2019. Read more.

Dallas News - The Epic project, a mixed-use development on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas, is underway in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. LRK, along with 5G Studio Collaborative, designed the 20-story, 300-unit apartment tower in the development for StreetLights Residential. Other uses in the project include an office tower, retail, and a botique hotel. Read more.
The Commercial Appeal – With the goal of energizing the emerging South Main Historic Arts District, the renovation of the 107-year-old United Warehouse building will begin in late September. Artspace South Main Lofts will include 58 affordable live/work units for artists and their families, community/gallery space, and an outdoor garden. Hattiesburg American – The Village at the Beverly recently opened on a site once home to the Hurricane Katrina-damaged Beverly Drive-In Theater. Developed by the Gulf Coast Housing Partnership in cooperation with South Mississippi Housing and Development Corporation, the apartment community will offer high-quality, affordable housing for families. LRK's Baton Rouge office provided architectural services for the 52-unit project which features one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in seven buildings, as well as both indoor and outdoor community gathering spaces. Multi-Housing News – Construction has begun on The Maxwell, a four-story apartment development within The Canals at Grand Park. Located in Frisco, Texas, the 325-unit Maxwell will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, as well as a two-story floor plan known as a treehouse unit. The Maxwell is designed to be pedestrian friendly and provides easy access to downtown Frisco, as well as a rich assortment of community amenities. Located on the eastern edge of Dallas’ exclusive Highland Park neighborhood, the building is designed and created for a renter-by-choice resident.
