Two LRK projects were awarded 2017 Best in American Living Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Bexley won a Platinum Award in the Single-Family Community 100 Units & Over category and The Chisca on Main received a Gold Award in the Adaptive Reuse Multifamily category. Winners were announced on January 10th at the NAHB International Builders' Show.
Now in its 34rd year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry including single-family production, custom, multifamily, affordable, remodeling, community and interiors.
StyleBlueprint - The LRK-designed O'More Designer Show Home opens October19th. Located in Nashville's new Você neighborhood, the home is nestled into its beautiful natural surroundings, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior. LRK is proud to announce that four of our projects received awards at the 36th Annual Aurora Awards held last week in Kissimee, Fla. The Chisca on Main received a Grand Aurora for Best Restored or Renovated Residential Project. Also taking home a Grand Aurora, the Bexeley Clubhouse, designed by LRK, won for Best Recreational Facility.
An LRK private residence won a Silver Aurora for Best Custom Home Under 4,000 SF, and Baldwin Harbor Apartments also received a Silver Aurora for Best Multi-Family Housing Community - 30-40 DU/Acre.
Established in 1979, the Aurora Awards are presented annually to outstanding builders, planners, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other housing-related professionals.
Dallas News - The Epic project, a mixed-use development on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas, is underway in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. LRK, along with 5G Studio Collaborative, designed the 20-story, 300-unit apartment tower in the development for StreetLights Residential. Other uses in the project include an office tower, retail, and a botique hotel. Read more.
Houzz - Recently, a client's "do-all" room was featured by a Houzz editor in the idea book "New This Week: 4 Envy-Inducing Laundry Rooms With Clever Storage."
With the goal of economizing space for both the overall size of the house and circulation space required to access the typical multiple special purpose rooms like the utility, home office, wrapping room, sewing/hobby room, etc., all of these spaces and functions are combined into one “do-all room.”
The New York Times - A Memphis home designed by LRK's Carson Looney was recently featured in The New York Times Real Estate section. This 4,883 square-foot home is contemporary in design on the exterior, featuring a brick and cedar facade, and blends a mix of traditional and contemporary elements on the interior. Read more.
