Two LRK projects were awarded 2017 Best in American Living Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Bexley won a Platinum Award in the Single-Family Community 100 Units & Over category and The Chisca on Main received a Gold Award in the Adaptive Reuse Multifamily category. Winners were announced on January 10th at the NAHB International Builders' Show.
Now in its 34rd year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry including single-family production, custom, multifamily, affordable, remodeling, community and interiors.
Houzz - Recently, a client's "do-all" room was featured by a Houzz editor in the idea book "New This Week: 4 Envy-Inducing Laundry Rooms With Clever Storage."
With the goal of economizing space for both the overall size of the house and circulation space required to access the typical multiple special purpose rooms like the utility, home office, wrapping room, sewing/hobby room, etc., all of these spaces and functions are combined into one “do-all room.”
The New York Times - A Memphis home designed by LRK's Carson Looney was recently featured in The New York Times Real Estate section. This 4,883 square-foot home is contemporary in design on the exterior, featuring a brick and cedar facade, and blends a mix of traditional and contemporary elements on the interior. Read more.
inRegister - LRK's Mike Sullivan describes one of the trends in the Baton Rouge residential marketplace as one of an "edited Southern vernacular." LRK Baton Rouge recently designed "a new Southern farmhouse" for Bardwell Homes, which emphasizes simplicity while mixing the best of the old and the new. Read more.
At Home Memphis & MidSouth - An LRK-designed home graces the cover and eight pages of the November issue of At Home Memphis & MidSouth. Homeowners, Leslie and Alper Cetingok, searched with their realtor for over a year to find the perfect house before turning to Carson Looney to design a home custom tailored to their needs. With Carson’s guidance, the home was designed to be light and airy, European in feel, and highly functional and livable. Read more.

The article includes tips on how to design a great porch and highlights multiple LRK projects. Read more.
inRegister - Located in the Bocage neighborhood of Baton Rouge, this renovation is a perfect combination of old and new, modern and antique. The existing home had “good bones,” but LRK’s Mike Sullivan helped reconfigure the spaces to accommodate a modern family lifestyle and to provide an ideal floor plan for entertaining. Read more.
In the inaugural Memphis Magazine Home Design Awards, an LRK show home received awards in two categories – Traditional Kitchen and Dining Room. The home located in Germantown, Tennessee was part of the 2013 Vesta Home Show custom built by David Clark Construction. Click for photos and for more on the article.
The Preserve at Harveston is a new 1,400-acre pedestrian-oriented TND in Baton Rouge. Inspired by classic southern neighborhoods and streetscapes, phase one of The Preserve at Harveston features gracious homes, a community center, pool, walking trails, a 15-acre park, and lakes, all nestled amongst a nature preserve. LRK provided planning services and architecture for single family homes and the village post office. Phase one is currently under construction.
