LRK's Jonathan Flynt to Speak at National Complete Streets Conference

LRK Associate Jonathan Flynt will participate on a panel at this year's national Complete Streets conference in Nashville, Tenn. Intersections: Creating Culturally Complete Streets, will focus on cutting-edge Complete Streets and creative placemaking research, ideas, and practices. Jonathan's session, "Engaging People, Art and Public Space via Tactical Urbanism," explores ideas and characteristics of tactical urbanism and the valuable role that engaging public art plays when included in a holistic process. Read more.   

LRK Philly Celebrates PARK(ing) Day

PARK(ing) Day is an annual, daylong global event where citizens, artists, and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public mini-parks, or "parklets". In Philadelphia, approximately 60 volunteer teams design, build, and install these temporary 170 square-foot parklets throughout the city as a gift to their fellow citizens.

LRK's Jim Constantine Presents at IDA Conference

LRK's Jim Constantine, along with Isaac Kremer, Executive Director of Downtown Metuchen, NJ, presented a session on tactical urbanism this morning at the International Downtown Association's 63rd Annual Conference & Tradeshow. The session, "Mastering the Art of Bringing Low-Cost Rapid Change to Downtown," discussed the international trends being used to test out ideas before making large capital investments including guerrilla wayfinding, parkletts, and mobile vendors.
