Madison Avenue Bike Lanes

When the city proposed that a portion of Madison Avenue be reduced from four lanes to three to create a turn lane and space for designated bike lanes, opposition was heard from business owners who felt that fewer car lanes would discourage customers. The mayor asked LRK to lead a public participation process to garner feedback from the citizens, present various plan options, and make final recommendations to the city administration. In addition to presenting two plans, LRK made suggestions on streetscape improvements, including new sidewalks, better crosswalks, landscaping and street furniture.
