Nineteenth Century Club

The historic renovation of the Nineteenth Century Club (1907) transformed the last grand mansion standing on Union Avenue in Memphis, Tenn. into an upscale restaurant and lounge. Vacant and unsecured for two years, much of the ornate millwork, including newel posts, elaborate mantles, and hardware had been stolen or removed. The design team tracked down many of these items from local salvage yards and worked with local artisans to recreate lost items from photographs. Alterations to the original structure were kept to a minimum.
