LRK Show Home Receives 2 Memphis Magazine Home Design Awards

In the inaugural Memphis Magazine Home Design Awards, an LRK show home received awards in two categories – Traditional Kitchen and Dining Room. The home located in Germantown, Tennessee was part of the 2013 Vesta Home Show custom built by David Clark Construction.  Here are a few highlights about the winning spaces from the article:

“To allow free room for the kitchen as a gathering place, the core appliances and upper cabinets are located on interior walls, leaving the island area with more fluid space.”  This allows the space of the kitchen to flow cohesively into the adjacent breakfast area and family room.

“Architect Carson Looney points to the vertical elements - specifically the range and hood that are placed on axis with the family-area fireplace – that visually tie the space together.”

“The dining room shared space with the foyer, or entry, so the project team was challenged not only to make the space cohesive but ‘extraordinary,’ says interior designer Linda Wingo.”

They both “create a great first impression upon entering the home.”                – LRK Architect Carson Looney.
