NCRM Receives Nation's Highest Honor for Museums
Commercial Appeal – The National Civil Rights Museum has been honored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services with a 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation's highest honor for libraries and museums.
The award is given to 10 institutions that have made significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. For the last 25 years, the award has recognized institutions that have contributed to individuals, families and communities.
The NCRM opened in 1991 and completed a $27.5 million renovation in 2014, updating and adding exhibits with state of the art interactive technology. LRK is proud to have served as the design architect for the museum expansion. Read more.
