Intergenerational Senior Housing Expected to Start Construction this Summer in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Magazine – Construction is expected to start on the LRK-designed NewCourtland Apartments at Henry Avenue later this summer. NewCourtland, one of Philadelphia’s leading developers of affordable housing, is redeveloping a former psychiatric hospital into a 175-unit, mixed-use, multi-generational apartment building that will offer affordable apartments for seniors as well as market rate apartments. Community amenities, many of which were designed to promote intergenerational mingling, include a community garden, rooftop lounge, dog park, exercise room, ball courts, two guest apartments, community and event space, and maker space.
