ROI-NJ - W Squared, the $350 million, mixed-use community located adjacent the Princeton Junction train station, recently received site plan approval by the West Windsor planning board. Led by AvalonBay, the walkable community will provide 868 residential units, including apartment homes, assisted living units, townhomes, and condominiums, as well as civic space such as a pavilion for public events and an interactive play area for children. A vacant office complex will also be renovated into a multimodal transportation hub with 21,300 square feet of commercial and restaurant space. “Residents have waited for many years for the redevelopment of this site near the Princeton Junction train station,” West Windsor Mayor Hemant Marathe said. “The mix of housing types and retail makes this project unique. This development will make an area that is currently underutilized and run down vibrant once again.” Site work has already begun, and in 2023 vertical construction will commence. LRK provided master planning, design guidelines, and architectural services for the community.
