MBJ- LRK has been actively collaborating with the Metal Museum in the pursuit of transforming Rust Hall in Overton Park. The aim is to create a versatile structure that not only expands the Museum’s footprint but also incorporates various functionalities. The renovation plan includes the addition of an auditorium and classrooms, intended for hosting events and workshops that inspire others to explore the captivating realm of fabrication, industrial metals, and fine arts.
With sustainability firmly rooted as one of our core values, LRK is working hard to ensure this historic building is being used to its full potential. Krissy Buck Flickinger, LRK’s Director of Sustainability, says," We want to save our buildings, watch them evolve, and breathe in new life. It’s important to consider how buildings can flex and bend with time, and this building is a true example of how you can work with the existing building stock to highlight the unique features, then add on to it for the next generation."
