Holly Pointe Commons

Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ

Holly Pointe Commons includes 1,415 beds in a traditional dorm-style student housing arrangement. Envisioned for first- and second-year students, the design introduces pods, which form families within the larger building community. Perimeter bedrooms are grouped around central facilities and gathering spaces that are designed to bring students together. Study lounges, gender-neutral core bathroom and shower areas, and laundry facilities are located within each pod. Bridges connecting four-story and seven-story forms unite all pods and act as common areas for the community. The finishes are clean and modern with touches of bold, energetic accents. The building is minimally targeted for LEED Silver certification.
