Working with Parker Design Studio, nexAir’s gas industry expertise was infused throughout the design of their new headquarters. Molecular formations of various gases are represented in the lighting, the open workspaces, commissioned artwork, and shared social spaces that all emanate from the circular atrium's feature glass staircase. The gas cylinder, the heart of the design concept, plays a prominent role in the visual experience. A restrained material palate of steel, glass, and concrete are also reflective of the client's industry. Exposed mechanical systems and slabs are unified by crisp white paint, lending a textural quality to the ceiling plane. Replicated exterior warehouse windows and a new storefront provide a clean, daylight-filled space and add to the overall sense of transparency.
