The main house provides a relaxed, classic form with the suggestion of additions having occurred over time, while a courtyard composition minimizes the overall scale of the home, creating a more modest and welcoming facade. The strong center hall axis and the gallery’s perpendicular axis help to link this evolved composition and allow for open, flowing spaces between the interior and outdoors. Antique and salvaged building materials were chosen to develop a sense of age, permanence and a comfortable atmosphere for family and friends.
