Sited to complement the existing historic Italianate church, the design expresses deference and sensitivity to the existing architecture, while creating unique spaces for education. A balance and separation of the needs of three unique user groups was achieved by creating a campus of buildings, all connected by a series of courtyard spaces. The simple form and dark colors of the new school building balance the light ornate church, allowing the church to stand out from its context. Subdued exteriors disguise very playful interiors with brightly colored walls and voluminous sunlit spaces that include corridors with skylights.
