Designed to meet the requirements for HUD funding, this project involves constructing 74 affordable apartment units in a pair of new three-story buildings adjacent an existing 15-story residential Housing Authority tower. A new internal tree-lined street with residential scale and character ties the buildings together, and the soon-to-be renovated tower integrates with the medium density neighborhood. The contemporary architectural detailing, provision of a large ground-floor community services area and walkable plan provide a unique and appealing option for residents.
